Whittingham Primary Academy is a larger than average two form entry school with over 440 pupils and 60 staff in Walthamstow, east London. Pupils come from a wide range of backgrounds with 17 different ethnic groups represented. More than half of the pupils learn English as an additional language, which is well above average. The proportion of pupils supported by school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is significantly above average; the majority of these have speech, language and communication difficulties or behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
